Jukebox Hire - FAQs

Transport and Logistics:

How far will you travel?

It is difficult to be too specific... We are based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire which is about 20 miles north of Leeds. We cannot provide a UK wide service so if you are too far away from us we will have to politely decline the hire, but please do ask.

Where are your regular venues?
As well as private house parties we often supply our Jukeboxes into the following venues:

Alwoodley Golf Club, Leeds ■ Castle Howard, Near York ■ Coniston Hotel, Coniston Cold ■ Crarthorne Hall, Yarm ■ Crimple Valley Golf Club, Harrogate ■ Devonshire Fell and Barden Towers, Bolton Abbey Estate ■ Goldsborough Hall, Knaresborough ■ Harrogate Golf Club ■ KC Stadium, Hull ■ Masonic Hall, Harrogate ■ Merchant Taylors Hall, York ■ Ripley Castle, Harrrogate ■ Rudding House, Harrogate ■ Sandburn Hall, Near York ■ Simonstone Hall Hotel, Hawes ■ Swinton Park Estate, Masham ■ The Abbey Inn, Coxwold ■ The Claret Jug, Oulton Hall ■ The Crab and Lobster, Asenby ■ The Crown Hotel, Harrogate ■ The Durham Ox, Crayke ■ The Grange Hotel, York ■ The Hospitium, York ■ The Langdale Chase Hotel, Windermere ■ The Old Deanery, Ripon ■ The Old Lodge, Malton ■ The Three Acres, Emley ■ The York Maze ■ Wood Hall, Linton ■ Yorebridge Hotel, Bainbridge ■

Can I collect the jukebox from you to save the transport costs?

No, the juke boxes are very heavy and also need to be locked down and secured in a special way during transit.

What time do you deliver and collect the jukebox?

Wherever possible we do aim to try and arrange deliveries and collections between 09.00 and 12:00.

Can I hire a jukebox for outside use in a marquee?

Yes, however, this depends upon certain factors, for example the size and quality of the marquee, security, type of flooring, provision of a suitable and safe 240v power source (e.g. from a generator with MCB protection) and ease of access to the grounds.

How do you deal with steps and stairs?

It is not possible to "man handle" a Wurlitzer Jukebox up a flight of stairs. However, most venues do have lifts which we can use and we also carry various sized ramps and trolley equipment which means we can normally manage outdoor garden steps and indoor steps without too many problems.

What are the jukebox dimensions?

Metric: Height: 152cm | Width: 82cm | Depth: 64cm | Weight: 157 kg
Imperial: Height: 60" | Width: 33" | Depth: 26" | Weight: 24st 10Lb

Music and Accessories:

Can I connect my own iPod ?

Yes, by utilising the universal iPod Dock included in the optional Accessory Pack
Can I add my own CD?

As a rule we would always encourage you to play any additional music using your own iPod and book the optional accessories we supply for this exact purpose. However, in certain circumstances (if you do not own an iPod for example) we will include your own special CD in Position 01 providing we are given enough notice. (Do not provide a CDR copy it must be an original CD)

How often do you update the standard CDs you supply?

It is about 3 times per year normally to coincide with the seasons, for example, in November in preparation for the Christmas and New Year hires we ensure the latest NOW CDs and popular Chart CDs are available at that time and we normally keep them in place until Easter when we typically repeat the exercise in preparation for Summer. At the end of Summer we prepare for Autumn and so the cycle continues. All our Jukeboxes have an identical music selection installed and it can be downloaded as a PDF. MUSIC - CLICK HERE

Do people have to pay to play a song?

No, by default the Jukebox is supplied to you in Free-Play mode... However, if you want to raise money at a charity ball for example, we can set the machine to 50p per song or 3 songs for a £1.00 at your request.
Will the music be loud enough?
The jukebox's own internal sound system is ideal for smaller function rooms, private houses etc , However, we recommend the 300w booster speakers (included with our optional accessory pack) for use in larger function rooms and in a marquee to boost the volume levels.

How old are your Jukeboxes?
Our current hire fleet comprises of genuine Wurlitzer 1015 OMT CD Black Onyx Jukeboxes purchased from new in July 2009.
